Forty-five entries decorated and installed on the historic grounds made Brucemore’s first annual Scarecrow Invasion a success. The public voted for the best scarecrow and the 2012 People’s Choice winners are:
First place: St. Matthew’s School
Second place: The Cedar Rapids Garden Club
Tie between St. Luke’s Hospital Auxiliary and Phil Burian
The scarecrows have been on display at Brucemore since October 13 and will remain on the estate until October 27. The public is welcome to view the scarecrows Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
