Did you know that Brucemore is home to an original Grant Wood artwork? In August 1925 Irene Douglas hired Grant Wood to create a plaster mural on the walls of a sleeping porch outside her youngest daughter’s bedroom. This August, we’re throwing a party to celebrate the 100th birthday if this Iowan artistic treasure. Drop by on August 16 between 11 AM to 6 PM for a day of free art activities, presentations by local Grant Wood experts, and $5 self-guided tours of the mansion.
