Mansion Hours
Access to the mansion is available only during scheduled tours and events. Please see upcoming mansion programs to plan your visit.
Gardens & Landscape Hours
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Closed on weekends through February 15.
- May be subject to change
- Tickets are not required to explore the gardens and landscape.
Visitor Guidelines for the Grounds
- Help us keep Brucemore beautiful and welcoming for every guest!
- Pets are welcome outdoors, but please keep them on lead and pick-up any waste.
- Professional photography is not allowed without permission from Brucemore. Please see our photography policy for more information.
- Help us keep the site clean by taking any trash with you when you leave.
- Enjoy the view by parking vehicles in paved spaces near the carriage house or mansion.
- Public restrooms are available in a building near the carriage house seasonally. Restrooms are also available inside the mansion for tour guests.
- Two picnic tables are available in the orchard and pairs of Adirondack chairs in various places across the estate.

2026 Closures:
Mansion tours are not offered on Mondays or Tuesdays.
The estate and business offices will be closed for the following holidays: January 1 & 2, January 19, February 16, May 25, June 19, July 3 & 4, September 7, October 12, November 11, November 26, December 24 & 25

Please note that the entry gate to Brucemore is located on Linden Drive. The Frist Avenue gate is exit only. Some GPS navigation systems may direct to the wrong gate. Please use signs around the property to aid in navigation.
Free parking is conveniently located on the estate near the Carriage House and near the mansion for tours and landscape visits, including spaces for visitors with mobility restrictions.
Parking varies for other large programs, including on- and off-site options. View the specific event for more information.

- Take Exit 22 at 29th Street and follow Brucemore Historic Site signs
- Travel east on 29th Street
- Turn right onto First Avenue (Business Hwy. 151)
- Turn left onto Crescent Street
- Turn left onto Linden Drive
- Turn left to enter the Brucemore gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403
Directions from Downtown Cedar Rapids
- Travel three miles east on First Avenue
- Turn right on Crescent Street
- Turn left onto Linden Drive
- Turn left to enter the Brucemore gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403
Bus Groups
Notify Brucemore if you arriving by bus by calling (319) 362-7375 prior to your visit.
- From I-380, take Exit 22 at 29th Street and follow Brucemore Historic Site signs
- Travel east on 29th Street
- Turn right onto First Avenue (Business Hwy. 151)
- Turn left onto Cottage Grove Avenue
- Turn right onto Forest Drive
- Turn right onto Dows Lane. There is a brown sign at the entrance of Dows Lane stating this is not a Brucemore entrance. Use this entrance because of vehicle size.
- Drive past three houses on the left. Drive through the open gate and turn left prior to the historic Carriage House adorned.
- Park parallel to the curb near the Carriage House
How to Purchase Tickets
Online
Tickets are sold through Brucemore’s website for individual programs. To purchase tickets, please go to the landing page for the program you wish to attend and click the “purchase tickets” button. You can find all upcoming events on our calendar. A $4 processing fee is applied to all online orders.
Over the Phone
Tickets may be purchased over the phone by calling 319-362-7375 Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Please be prepared to provide a credit card number when calling. Tickets may not be reserved without payment. A $4 processing fee is applied to all phone orders.
In Person
Tickets may be purchased in person at the mansion during open hours. Please see our calendar or call 319-362-7375 for open times. If you would like to come to the carriage house offices to purchase tickets, please call ahead to make an appointment.
Tickets for many events and tours may be purchased at the door, but programs can sell out. Please check the event details for individual programs to see if tickets will be available at the door. If you have any questions about walkup availability, please call 319-362-7375.
Accessibility
Many areas of Brucemore are wheelchair accessible, including parking areas, and the grounds.
The Brucemore mansion includes multiple floors and several staircases. Because of the historic architecture, some spaces are not accessible. Tours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors.

Do I need to make an appointment to tour the mansion?
You must have a ticket to a tour or program inside the mansion. Walk-up tickets may be purchased at the front entrance of the mansion, subject to availability. Many tours do sell out in advance; purchase online or by calling 319-362-7375 in advance of your visit to guarantee your spot. See the schedule here.
Is the mansion wheelchair accessible?
The mansion is not wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. Most of the outdoor areas of the site are accessible. See our full accessibility information and contact us with additional questions regarding your visit.
Can I walk on the property?
Yes, the grounds and gardens are open daily most of the year. Several self-guided interpretive panels are available. See hours here.
What is Brucemore’s ticket policy?
Tickets are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled for comparable programs as space allows. Learn more.
