Mansion Hours
- March 6 to September 1
- Wednesday – Saturday, 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Sunday, 1:00 to 3:00 PM
- Entry times every half-hour
Tickets are required to visit the mansion. Please see our available tours for individual tour times and tickets. Advance purchase of tickets is recommended but not required for most tours.
Gardens & Landscape Hours
- Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Sunday, 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM
- May be subject to change
- During your visit you can enjoy the free History Ungated Digital Landscape Tour. Scan the QR codes at various points of interest to learn more about the estate
Visitor Guidelines for the Grounds
- Help us keep Brucemore beautiful and welcoming for every guest!
- Pets are welcome outdoors, but please keep them on lead and pick-up any waste.
- Help us keep the site clean by taking any trash with you when you leave.
- Enjoy the view by parking vehicles in paved spaces near the carriage house or mansion.
- Public restrooms are available in a building near the carriage house seasonally.

Free parking is conveniently located on the estate near the Carriage House and near the mansion for daily visits or tours, including limited spaces for visitors with mobility restrictions.

Directions From I-380
- Take Exit 22 at 29th Street and follow Brucemore Historic Site signs
- Travel east on 29th Street
- Turn right onto First Avenue (Business Hwy. 151)
- Turn left onto Crescent Street
- Turn left onto Linden Drive
- Turn left to enter the Brucemore gate
Directions From Downtown Cedar Rapids
- Travel three miles east on First Avenue
- Turn right on Crescent Street
- Turn left onto Linden Drive
- Turn left to enter the Brucemore gate
Bus Groups
Notify Brucemore if you arriving by bus by calling (319) 362-7375 prior to your visit.
- From I-380, take Exit 22 at 29th Street and follow Brucemore Historic Site signs
- Travel east on 29th Street
- Turn right onto First Avenue (Business Hwy. 151)
- Turn left onto Cottage Grove Avenue
- Turn right onto Forest Drive
- Turn right onto Dows Lane. There is a brown sign at the entrance of Dows Lane stating this is not a Brucemore entrance. Use this entrance because of vehicle size.
- Turn left at the metal gate
- Park near the Carriage House
Accessibility
Many areas of Brucemore are wheelchair accessible, including parking areas, and the grounds.
The Brucemore mansion includes multiple floors and several staircases. Because of the historic architecture, some spaces are not accessible. Due to preservation work, the wheelchair lift that offers accessibility to the first floor will be unavailable until late 2023. An elevator is not available from the first floor to the other floors at any time.

Do I need to make an appointment to tour the mansion?
You must have a ticket to a tour or program inside the mansion. Many tours do sell out in advance; purchase online or by calling 319-362-7375 in advance of your visit to guarantee your spot. See the schedule here.
Is the mansion wheelchair accessible?
The mansion is not currently accessible to wheelchairs due to preservation work. The mansion includes multiple flights of stairs. Most of the outdoor areas of the site are accessible. See our full accessibility information and contact us with additional questions regarding your visit.
Can I walk on the property?
Yes, the grounds and gardens are open daily most of the year. Several self-guided interpretive panels and tours via QR codes are available. See hours here.
What is Brucemore’s ticket policy?
Tickets are non-refundable, but may be rescheduled for comparable programs as space allows. Learn more.
I’m attending a large event at Brucemore. Where do I park?
Large events may require you to park offsite. Please read the event details on the calendar for specific information for each event.
Are weapons allowed at Brucemore?
We prohibit weapons on the property and at programs to ensure the safety and security of all employees and people visiting Brucemore.
