Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring an updated version of a popular workshop!

Participants will design a beautiful, tall glass holiday tree decoration using warm glass techniques. The tree will come with a wooden display stand, so you can add this unique piece to your holiday decorations.

This workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your creation will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the class date, just in time to decorate for the holidays!

Admission: $55.00 per project

Workshop Details

We want you to have a fun and festive experience! To help make the most of your visit, we’ve prepared a few tips. If you have any questions that haven’t been answered here, our team is happy to help. Please email us or call 319-362-7375 to reach a Brucemore staff member.

What to know before you go:

• Workshop capacity is limited, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required.
• This workshop is recommended for participants above the age of 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.
• All participants should plan to wear closed-toes shoes and clothing that covers your legs for safety.
• This workshop lasts approximately ninety minutes.
• Projects will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the workshop date.

What to do when you arrive:

• Please enter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
• Once onsite, please follow signs towards the Carriage House where there is onsite parking available.
• Please check-in for the workshop with Brucemore staff at the Carriage House.

Tips for your visit:

• Please consider leaving bags or other larger personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available, but it’s not monitored during the workshop.
  All ticket sales are final. Please read our ticket policy here.
• Visitors are encouraged to put on their hats and gloves to explore Brucemore’s grounds during their visit! The estate includes a formal garden, a night garden, orchard, pet cemetery, and more that are especially beautiful after a snowfall.
