Embrace the sparkle of the season!

Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for another popular workshop, just in time to kick off the holiday season! In this workshop, participants will decorate an adorable mitten ornament using a warm glass technique. If you’re feeling inspired, make it a pair to decorate your tree.

This workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your beautiful bauble will be ready for pick up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the class date. 

Please register by November 11 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot!

Note: All participants must purchase their own admission. The two ornament project option is for one participant to complete two projects. Sharing projects is not allowed and will land you on the naughty list!

Workshop Details

What to know before you go:

• Workshop capacity is limited, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required. 
• This workshop is recommended for participants above the age of 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. 
• All participants should plan to wear closed-toes shoes and clothing that covers your legs for safety.
• This workshop lasts approximately ninety minutes.
• Projects will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the workshop date. 

What to do when you arrive:

• Please enter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403. 
• Once onsite, please follow signs towards the Carriage House where there is onsite parking available.
• Please check-in for the workshop with Brucemore staff at the Carriage House. 

Tips for your visit:

• Please consider leaving bags or other larger personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available, but it’s not monitored during the workshop. 
• All ticket sales are final. Please read our ticket policy here. 
• Visitors are encouraged to put on their hats and gloves to explore Brucemore’s grounds during their visit! The estate includes a formal garden, a night garden, orchard, pet cemetery, and more that are especially beautiful after a snowfall.
