December 17th, 2021

This recognition follows Brucemore having been handpicked by the 10Best local experts as one of the top 18 historic houses and online voting throughout the month of November. Brucemore also ranked in the top 10 in 2019.

“Being recognized as one of the top historic holiday home tours is an incredible honor,” said Director of Community Engagement Tara Richards. “We were competing against other magnificent sites located across the country. We are extremely grateful to be part of a community that supports and participates in our mission, particularly as we work to recover from the dual pandemic and derecho crises.”

Annually, Brucemore provides the opportunity for visitors to celebrate the season beginning in November through New Year’s Eve through special seasonal programming. This year, visitors can enjoy the seasonal splendor of the 1880s mansion, including 13 glowing trees, a dining room set for Christmas dinner, the lush garland adornment of the grand staircase, and other holiday cheer. Special artifacts from Brucemore’s collection are on display to help bring the story of Christmas in the early 1900s to life.

“A Brucemore Christmas” self-guided mansion tours are offered Thursdays through Sundays through December 31 with entry times every 30 minutes beginning at noon with the last entry at 3:00 p.m. Admission is $10 per adult and $5 per youth with member discounts available. Each tour is limited to 12 people to allow physical distancing and masks are required, regardless of vaccination status. Brucemore will be closed December 24 through 26 in observation of Christmas.
