Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. If you’re looking for a fun and casual way to learn something new while connecting with other history fans\, then this event is for you! \nApril 17 – Ladies Behind the Scenes\nThere’s no business like show business\, and there’s no show business quite like 1920s Broadway. At this Mansion Mixer\, we’re digging into theatre by exploring the lives of four women whose work behind the scenes made headlines. Want to learn how Anne Nichols became a multi-millionaire by writing a play critics hated? Curious about how Renee Harris became a Broadway producer after surviving the Titanic? Join us in the Tahitian Room to discover these stories and more over a drink. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator.  Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\nThis tour covers the three main floors of the mansion and the Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar in the basement.\nThis tour is approximately 60 minutes long.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket. If you need to purchase a ticket\, you can do that at the mansion when you arrive.\nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door next to the circle drive.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video. A labeled Google Map of the site is available here.\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during tours.\nMansion doors open 15 minutes before the scheduled tour start time. Early admittance may not be available and there is not an indoor lobby to wait for the tour to begin. If you arrive onsite more than 15 minutes before a scheduled tour\, please enjoy exploring the grounds before entering the mansion.\nGuided mansion tours begin promptly at the advertised start time. If you arrive after the tour start time\, you may be subject to a shortened tour or asked to join another tour time that day\, subject to availability.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours.
