Fourth Family Fund
Invest in Brucemore’s future
In 2013, Brucemore received an endowment challenge grant from the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation to establish the Brucemore Fourth Family Endowment Challenge Grant Fund. This endowment fund will provide annual distributions to Brucemore to support our preservation and program initiatives.
The Community Foundation has provided a matching grant to help us build this endowment fund to $100,000. For every dollar that Brucemore donors contribute to this fund up to $75,000, the Community Foundation will match at a 3:1 ratio up to $25,000. Household contributions are subject to a $7,500 limit.
In addition, donors to this fund will benefit from the Endow Iowa tax credit, which provides donors with a 25 percent tax credit on their Iowa income taxes. To be eligible for the tax credit, donors must provide their contribution directly to the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, noting that the contribution is for the “Brucemore FFF.”
Gifts to the Fourth Family Fund will:
- Increase the donor’s income tax deduction, reducing out-of-pocket costs
- Leverage matching contributions to the Fund at a 3:1 ratio
- Provide income in perpetuity for the ongoing preservation and programming at Brucemore
Endowment-building is a key strategy in the efforts of Brucemore’s Board of Trustees and staff to ensure organizational sustainability.
