SUMMARY:Art at Brucemore: Linocut Stamp-Making
DESCRIPTION:Brucemore is partnering with the Eastern Iowa Arts Academy to bring you a brand-new Art at Brucemore project! In this hands-on workshop\, participants will learn the basics of linocut stamp-making. This beginner friendly class will introduce simple carving and printing techniques while encouraging creativity and personal expression. \nDuring the workshop\, participants will create and carve two stamps. The first stamp will be your practice stamp; the instructor will provide participants with a small\, simple design and show you how to use tools to carve the design into a rubber stamp. Once you’ve mastered the process\, participants can design a monogram or choose a different pattern to carve their own personalized stamp. When the workshop is finished\, you’ll head home with two unique stamps to decorate your cards\, letters\, journals\, scrapbooks\, and other paper art! \nPlease register by June 24 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot! \nAdmission: $50.00/per project \nA $4 processing fee will be added to all online and phone orders. \nWhat to know before you go: \n\nWorkshop capacity is limited\, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required.\nThis workshop is recommended for participants above the age of 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop.\nAll participants must purchase with own admission. This project is intended for one person to complete; sharing projects is not allowed.\nThis workshop lasts approximately two hours.\nAll instructions\, materials\, and tools are provided.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive: \n\nPlease enter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403.\nOnce onsite\, please follow signs towards the Carriage House\, where there is onsite parking available.\nCheck-in for the workshop with Brucemore staff at the Carriage House.\n\nTips for your visit: \n\nConsider leaving bags or other larger personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during the workshop.\nAll admission sales are final. Please read our ticket policy here.\nVisitors are encouraged to explore Brucemore during their visit.
