DESCRIPTION:Join us for an introduction to the earnest\, heartfelt songcraft of Brian Johannesen. This performance will feature songs from his album Holster Your Silver\, described as a “a heck of an enjoyable listen and a supremely well-crafted piece of Midwestern Americana” by Little Village Magazine. These gritty\, story-driven songs are a perfect listen for fans of John Prine\, Guy Clark\, and Bruce Springsteen. \nJohannesen previously worked with the Artisan Studio at Brucemore to craft a featured song for the documentary From Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era. We are excited to share more of this talented Midwestern artist’s work during the latest event in our Live from the Artisan Studio series. \nAbout Live from the Artisan Studio at Brucemore \nThis series curated by the arts professionals behind Brucemore’s Artisan Studio gives you a chance to discover something new from talented local artists. You’ll be delighted and surprised by these unique events\, showcasing the best of music\, spoken word\, theatre\, and more created right here in Eastern Iowa. Check out the series webpage for dates and more information about other upcoming events! \nAdmission \n\n$15 Adult\n$10 Student\nBrucemore supporters receive a $5 discount per ticket.\nA $4.00 processing fee is applied to all online and phone orders. To use your discount\, please sign in using the link in the upper right corner of the purchase page or call (319) 362-7375.\n\n\n\nWhat to expect from this event: \n\nYou are welcome to bring your own light snacks and beverages (beer and wine allowed) to enjoy in the performance venue. Concessions will not be available for sale at this event.\nThe only gate that will open to vehicles for on-site parking is at 2160 Linden Drive SE. The gate will be open by 7:00 PM.\nPets are not allowed\, with the exception of service animals.\nSpace to wait indoors before doors open is not available. If you arrive onsite before 7:00\, we encourage you to enjoy exploring the landscape before the event.\nIndoor seating will be provided.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive: \n\nFollow signage to open parking spaces near the Carriage House or on the grounds of Brucemore. Accessible parking will be available.\n Follow signs to enter the Carriage House on the north side.\nCheck in with staff at the event entrance by providing the name on your order.\n\nCarriage House Event Map \n\n\n\nPreservation in Progress: \nThis year Brucemore is doing exciting preservation work to maintain several historic buildings. Due to this work\, a portion of the Carriage House parking lot will be unavailable.
