DESCRIPTION:March 21 | Staged Reading\nWhen free-spirited Dionysus shows up at Athena’s apartment after seven years of estrangement\, Athena is reasonably suspicious of her sibling’s motives. Though Di currently has a successful career as a touring pop star\, Athena can’t help but think that something has gone wrong\, leaving her as Dionysus’ only point of contact. Dionysus is larger than life and wears her emotions on her sleeve\, but she has her own secrets\, and seems to be trying to pry Athena’s out of her. In Everything/Something/Nothing\, the sisters wrestle with their conflicting views on art\, love\, and what it means to be successful in their two very different lives. \n\nAdmission \n\nAdult: $15\nStudent: $10\nBrucemore supporters receive a $5 discount per ticket.\nA $4.00 processing fee will be applied to all online and phone orders.\n\n\n\nEvent Date: March 21\, 7:00 PM \nEvent Location: Brucemore’s Carriage House \nThis event is presented as part of Brucemore’s Artisan Studio programming.\nAbout the Playwright \nBrigid Martin has quickly made a name for herself as a playwright in the Iowa City area. A 2020 graduate of the University of Iowa’s English and Creative Writing program\, Brigid has had 15 productions produced at venues including Willow Creek Theatre\, Run of the Mill Theatre\, and Iowa City Community Theatre. She was named the inaugural Artist-in-Residence at Faith UCC in Iowa City for the 2022-2023 season\, which culminated in a one-person conceptual show\, Lazarus Alive. \nAbout the Collaboration \nArtists embark on a journey of growth and inspiration with Brucemore. Each year\, arts professionals handpick talented artists eager to expand their horizons. Teaming up with our seasoned creatives and technicians\, they craft projects that showcase the transformative power of a fully funded support network. \nThings to know before you arrive: \n\nThe venue will open at 6:30 PM for seating.\nThis event occurs indoors.\nYou are welcome to bring your own light snacks and beverages (beer and wine allowed) to enjoy in the performance venue. Concessions will not be available for sale at this event.\nThe only gate that will open to vehicles for on-site parking is at 2160 Linden Drive SE. The gate will open at 6:30 PM. Signage will direct you to open spaces near the Visitor Center. Accessible parking will be available.\nPets are not allowed\, with the exception of service animals.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive: \n\nFollow signage and staff directions to open parking spaces near the Carriage House or on the grounds of Brucemore.\n Follow signs to enter the Carriage House on the north side.\nCheck in with staff at the event entrance by providing the name on your order.\n\nTicket Policies: All ticket sales are non-refundable. Please read our ticket policy here. Online and phone orders are subject to a $4.00 processing fee per order. \nWeather: The event occurs fully outdoors and may be held in light rain. If the event cannot be held due to weather\, a decision will be made by 5:00 PM and posted on Brucemore’s website and social media. Ticket holders will be notified by phone.
