Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. Each program includes time for self-guided tours of the mansion and the opportunity to enjoy an entertaining history presentation in the Tahitian Room\, America’s oldest in-home tiki bar! Your ticket includes a complimentary canned drink served from the mansion’s other quirky basement party space: the Grizzly Bar. If you’re looking for a fun and casual way to learn something new while connecting with other history fans\, then this event is for you! \nMarch 20 – Puzzles and Poltergeists\nWhat do puzzle making\, bookbinding\, and spiritualism have in common? They were all part of the fascinating life of Helen Haskell Noyes! Celebrate Women’s History Month by learning about her life with a drink in hand. We’ll explore her connections to Brucemore and the conversations with the dead she published in a book called The Voice from Space. While you explore the mansion\, you can see several of her handmade puzzles on display. Finish the evening with a test of your puzzle skills in a speed puzzling challenge! \nEvent Schedule:\n\n6:30 PM – Doors Open\n6:30 to 7:45 PM – Time for self-guided tours and socializing\n\nPresentations will be offered in the Tahitian Room at 6:45 and 7:15 PM\nA craft activity will be available during this time\n\n\n8:00 PM – Speed puzzling challenge\n8:30 PM – Event ends\n\nEvent cost:\n\n$25 General Admission\nBrucemore Supporters receive $5 off per ticket\nA $4 processing fee will be added to all online and phone orders.\n\nWhat’s included:\n\nLight snacks and a ticket for one complimentary drink. To help make the most of your visit\, we’ve prepared a few tips. If you have any questions that haven’t been answered here\, our team is happy to help. Please send an email to mail@brucemore.org or call 319-362-7375 to reach a Brucemore staff member. \nWhat to expect from this tour \n\nGuided mansion tours do not include access to buildings other than the mansion.\nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator.  Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\nThis tour covers the three main floors of the mansion and the Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar in the basement.\nThis tour is approximately 60 minutes long.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket. If you need to purchase a ticket\, you can do that at the mansion when you arrive.\nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door next to the circle drive.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video. A labeled Google Map of the site is available here.\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during tours.\nMansion doors open 15 minutes before the scheduled tour start time. Early admittance may not be available and there is not an indoor lobby to wait for the tour to begin. If you arrive onsite more than 15 minutes before a scheduled tour\, please enjoy exploring the grounds before entering the mansion.\nGuided mansion tours begin promptly at the advertised start time. If you arrive after the tour start time\, you may be subject to a shortened tour or asked to join another tour time that day\, subject to availability.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours. We encourage you to enjoy a meal at one of Cedar Rapids’ local restaurants before or after your visit.\nAll ticket sales are non-refundable.
