DESCRIPTION:Discover over a century of history at Brucemore! \nFrom Saturday\, March 14 through Sunday\, March 22\, we are offering self-guided tours of the mansion\, and all visitors can enjoy the student admission rate. Whether you are young or simply young at heart\, everyone is a kid when they visit Brucemore during Spring Break! \nExplore the beautiful rooms of the mansion at your own pace. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer your questions as you learn about the history of the site. When you are finished visiting the mansion\, Brucemore welcomes you to explore the 26-acres of grounds and gardens at no additional cost. \nSpring Break tours are generously sponsored by the Rohde Family Charitable Foundation. \nTour Dates \n\nMarch 14 to March 22\nWednesday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM\nSunday: 1:00 – 4:00 PM\n\nThe last entry for self-guided tours is 3:00 PM. The mansion will close at 4:00 PM. \nTour Details\nWe can’t wait to welcome you to Brucemore! To help make the most of your visit\, we’ve prepared a few tips. If you have any questions that haven’t been answered here\, our team is happy to help. Please email us or call 319-362-7375 to reach a Brucemore staff member. \nWhat to expect from this tour \n\nSelf-guided mansion tours do not include access to buildings other than the mansion.\nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a visitor services staff member approximately every half hour. These rooms are not available to access without a guide.\nYou may take as much or as little time in the mansion as you’d like\, but we recommend planning for 45 minutes to allow enough time to explore.\nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket. If you need to purchase a ticket\, you can do that at the mansion when you arrive.\nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door next to the circle drive.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video. A labeled Google Map of the site is available here.\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during tours.\nWe recommend that guests plan to spend at least 45 minutes exploring the mansion on a self-guided tour. The final entry time for a self-guided tour of the mansion is 3:00 PM. The mansion will close at 4:00 PM.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours. We encourage you to enjoy a meal at one of Cedar Rapids’ local restaurants before or after your visit.\nAll ticket sales are non-refundable. Please read our ticket policy here.\nTours may be canceled if weather or other conditions could jeopardize the safety of anyone involved. Brucemore will contact ticket holders by phone and email in the event of a tour cancellation. Tickets are non-refundable\, however\, the ticket value may be credited as a tax-deductible contribution to Brucemore within seven days.\nPhotography is allowed inside the mansion for personal\, non-professional use. Bring your lawn chair for an evening filled with live music\, delicious food\, and cold drinks in the beautiful setting of Brucemore’s front lawn. \nPlease see the bottom of this page for FAQs and important event information. \n\n\nEvent Date: August 1 \nEvent Time: 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM; gates open at 3:00 PM \nLocation: Brucemore’s First Avenue Lawn \nAdmission \n\n$25 in advance\n$30 at the gate\nChildren 12 and under receive free admission\nA $4.00 processing fee is applied to all online and phone orders.\n\nEvent FAQs\n\nWhere will the event take place? – The main stage will be on the First Avenue lawn.\nHow will seating work for this event? – All guests will need to bring their own blankets or chairs to enjoy the performance.\nCan I bring my pet? – Pets are not allowed at this event\, excluding service animals.\nWill food and drink be available during the event? – Food and alcoholic beverages will be available for sale during the event.\nCan I bring my own drinks to this event? – Outside food and drink is not allowed at this event. Vendors will be on-site to sell food and drink.\nWhere should I park? – Parking will not be available on the Brucemore property during this event due to the number of attendees expected. Guests may look for off-site parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Handicap parking will be available beginning at 3:00 PM in the Bradley and Riley parking lot\, located next to Brucemore’s First Avenue gate at 2007 1st Ave SE. A golf cart shuttle will be available to help transport guests with limited mobility from the gates to the seating area. Guests should plan to walk a few blocks to the event depending on where they park.\nWhere do I enter the event? – The gates to the Brucemore property off First Avenue\, Linden Dr. SE\,  and Dows Lane will be open for pedestrians to enter or exit the property for the event.\nDo I need to reserve tickets? – Tickets are required to attend this event. They may be purchased in advance online\, over the phone\, or at select locations for $25 or at the gate for $30. Please check back soon for in-person ticket locations.\nWill the mansion be open during this event? – The mansion will be open for limited\, free self-guided tours during a portion of the event.\nWill this event be held during rain or inclement weather? – Safety of everyone involved will be a priority. The event may be adapted or canceled due to weather. This could include holding a portion of the event. Any changes will be communicated here and via social media.\nWill there be an ATM? – There will not be an ATM available at the event. The closest ATM is located at the 1st Avenue Hawkeye Convenience Store.\n\n\nTicket Policies: \nAll ticket sales are non-refundable.
