In this workshop\, you will design a beautiful wreath ornament made of glass. All materials and instructions are provided\, and no experience is necessary to participate. \nParticipants will craft and set their ornaments at Brucemore. All projects will go back to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your creation will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the workshop date\, just in time to hang your masterpiece on your tree! \nTicket sales close on November 13 at 5:00 PM\, but this workshop often sells out in advance. \nWorkshop Date\nNovember 17\, 12:30 PM – Purchase tickets  \nNovember 17\, 2:30 PM – Purchase tickets  \nAdmission\n$40 for one ornament; $55 for two ornaments\nNote: All participants must purchase their own admission. This self-guided tour of the mansion is sure to fill you with holiday cheer! Be the first to explore our award-winning holiday experience complete with over a dozen Christmas trees\, sparkling décor\, and a glimpse into the holidays of the past at Brucemore. As our gift to you\, your donor status includes two complimentary tickets to visit during one of the following dates. To redeem your tickets and schedule your time to visit\, please call (319) 362-7375 or by email. \nTour Dates \n\nNovember 22 – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM\nNovember 23 – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM\nNovember 24 – 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM\nEntry times are every 30 minutes. Last entry time at 3:00 PM on November 22-23\, and 7:00 PM on November 24.\n\n What to know before you go \n\nAll Brucemore holiday tours are self-guided experiences. Interpretive signage and audio will be available in select rooms to help you learn about Brucemore’s history. Visitor services staff will be available to answer questions.\nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a visitor services staff member approximately every 30 minutes.\nDonors may purchase additional tickets for these dates at the donor rate of $10 for adults and free for children\, subject to availability.\nCapacity is limited and entry times can sell out.\nIf you are not a current Brucemore donor\, you can make a contribution to our Supporter Fund to receive access to these tours.\n\n What to do when you arrive \n\nPlease enter the property through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403.\nOnce on-site\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nFollow signs to the on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nPlease check-in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket.\nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door under the porte cochere next to the circle drive.\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored.\nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge or call for more information.\nEarly admittance may not be available during peak tour times and we do not have a lobby to allow you to wait indoors.\nBefore or after your tour\, put on your hat and gloves and explore Brucemore’s ground during your visit! All workshop materials and instructions for the warm glass technique are provided\, and no experience is necessary to participate!  \nParticipants will craft their cookie plates at Brucemore. Free and open to the public seven days a week for a majority of the year\, visiting the grounds offers the perfect way to immerse yourself in a historic country estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. Please carry out anything you bring onto the site.\nParking for vehicles is available on pavement near the Carriage House or Mansion.\nPublic restrooms are available in a building next to the Carriage House during hours with vehicle access seasonally.

DESCRIPTION:This self-guided tour of the mansion is sure to fill you with holiday cheer! Explore our award-winning holiday experience\, complete with over a dozen dazzling Christmas trees\, sparkling seasonal décor\, and a glimpse into the holidays of the past at Brucemore. Follow in the footsteps of the families of Brucemore as you explore the history of the mansion. \nTour Dates \n\nNovember 29 – December 29\nWednesdays – Saturdays\, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM\nSundays\, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM\nEntry times are every 30 minutes. Last entry time at 3:00 PM.\nBrucemore is closed for the Christmas holiday on December 23\, 24\, and 25. \n\n Admission \n\n$15.00 Adult\n$5.00 Student (4+)\nFree (3 and under)\nBrucemore supporters receive a $5 discount per ticket.\nA $4.00 processing fee will be applied to all online and phone orders.\n\nWhat to know before you go \n\nAll Brucemore holiday tours are self-guided experiences. Interpretive signage and audio will be available in select rooms to help you learn about Brucemore’s history. Visitor services team staff will be available to answer questions.\nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a visitor services staff member approximately every 30 minutes.\nCapacity is limited and tours can sell out. Purchasing tickets in advance is recommended. Tickets can be purchased at the door\, subject to availability.\nIf you have any questions about tours or purchasing tickets\, please contact us at 319-362-7375 or by email.\n\n What to do when you arrive \n\nPlease enter the property through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403.\nOnce on-site\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nFollow signs to the on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nPlease check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket.\nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door under the porte cochere next to the circle drive.\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored.\nIf parking near the mansion is full\, overflow parking is available near the Carriage House\, which is a short walk from the mansion. Please see the estate map to view parking locations.\nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge or call for more information.\nEarly admittance may not be available during peak tour times and we do not have a lobby to allow you to wait indoors.\nBefore or after your tour\, put on your hat and gloves and explore Brucemore’s ground during your visit! The estate includes a formal garden\, a white garden\, orchard\, pet cemetery\, and more that are especially beautiful after a snowfall.\nIf you miss your tour start time\, you may be subject to a shortened tour or asked to join another tour time that day\, subject to availability.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours. We encourage you to enjoy a meal at one of Cedar Rapids’ local restaurants before or after your visit.\nAll ticket sales are non-refundable.
