SUMMARY:Free Film Screening of From Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era
DESCRIPTION:Produced in collaboration with filmmaker Jeremy Glazier and Brucemore’s Artisan Studio\, From Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era represents years of community engagement\, collaboration\, and storytelling. The film offers a deeply personal exploration of the lives of ordinary Iowans who grew up in the 1950s and 60s\, left the idyllic landscapes of small-town America\, and faced the realities of war in foreign lands. Through Glazier’s lens\, the film chronicles the veterans’ journeys\, from the turbulence of war to the challenges of reintegration upon returning home. It provides a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by a generation whose narratives have often been overshadowed by history. \nA screening of this film will take place in the Veterans Memorial Building armory on November 21 at 6:30 PM with exhibits and a variety of organizations available beginning at 6:00 PM. There will be a Q&A with Jeremy Glazier and others following the film. \nThis event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. \nNavigation instructions: \n\nPlease use street parking on the 2nd Avenue Bridge (free after 5:00 PM)\nEnter through the building through the 2nd Avenue Bridge doors\n\nPreview the film: \n\n\n \n\n\n

SUMMARY:SOLD OUT - Game Night at Brucemore: Blood on the Clocktower
DESCRIPTION:This event is sold out. Please fill out this form to be added to the waitlist. \nPlease scroll down for ticket purchase links. \nWe’re bringing Blood on the Clocktower back to the mansion for another night of spooky gaming! Attendees loved last October’s event\, so this year we’ve increased capacity and invited more Storytellers to give more people the opportunity to join in the fun. \nOn February 14\, we’re transforming Brucemore into Ravenswood Manor for an elegantly eerie\, masquerade-themed evening of social deduction. Guests are invited to don their best evening wear and a mask to hide their identities\,  just like the demons will be hiding their true intentions! \nWhether you’re looking for a unique Valentine’s Day date night or chance to play games with friends at Cedar Rapids’ most iconic historic house\, this is the perfect way to spend an unforgettable evening. Your experience will be set against the moody backdrop of the mansion after hours\, with live music to add to the ambience. Tickets include light appetizers\, a unique gaming experience\, and self-guided tour access to the mansion during cocktail hour. Canned soft and hard drinks will be available to purchase. \nAbout the Game: \nBlood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game of murder and mystery led by a Storyteller. Each player will be assigned a unique character and designated either good or evil. Good players share information to help solve the mystery\, while evil players lie to try to lead the group astray. The good team wins if they can work together to execute the demon. The evil team wins if the demon can wipe out the entire village. \nIf you’re not familiar with the game\, we recommend watching this video to see how it works! \nGet Tickets\nTickets: $30 per player | Brucemore Supporters receive $5 off each ticket. | A $4 processing fee will be added to all online and phone orders. \nThis evening will include games in three rooms that run at the same time. Please use the links below to select tickets for a group. Each room has a recommended play style to help create a curated game experience\, but players of all experience levels and interests are welcome to join any room. If you are planning to attend the event with others and your party is purchasing tickets separately\, please make sure that everyone purchases tickets for the same group.
