Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, discover the multi-stage geocache\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Check out the new History Ungated QR code tour by scanning the codes on signs throughout the estate! Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\n\nHours through December 31\, 2023:  \n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. Interact with hands-on opportunities and ask questions of the knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Head outside after your mansion tour and explore the 26-acres of grounds and gardens on your own at no additional cost. We recommend planning for 45 minutes indoors. \nTickets for guided tours of the mansion are available for advance sale on our website. DESCRIPTION:The Ceramic Holiday Tree workshop is sold out! \n\nEmbrace the sparkle of the season! \nThe holiday season is upon us\, and Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring a new holiday workshop to Brucemore. \nRoll up your sleeves and create a magical holiday tree! Form your tree using hand-building techniques and then use scissors and other tools to create the boughs and branches. Finally\, paint on colored glaze and add decorations to your tree to create depth to your project. All materials and instructions are provided\, and no experience is necessary to participate! \nParticipants will craft and glaze their trees at Brucemore. All projects will go back to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass studio for firing in their kilns. Free and open to the public seven days a week for a majority of the year\, visiting the grounds offers the perfect way to immerse yourself in a historic country estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, discover the multi-stage geocache\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Check out the new History Ungated QR code tour by scanning the codes on signs throughout the estate! Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\n\nHours through December 31\, 2023:  \n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. DESCRIPTION:The Ceramic Holiday Tree workshop is sold out! \n\nEmbrace the sparkle of the season! \nThe holiday season is upon us\, and Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring a new holiday workshop to Brucemore. \nRoll up your sleeves and create a magical holiday tree! Form your tree using hand-building techniques and then use scissors and other tools to create the boughs and branches. Finally\, paint on colored glaze and add decorations to your tree to create depth to your project. All materials and instructions are provided\, and no experience is necessary to participate! \nParticipants will craft and glaze their trees at Brucemore. All projects will go back to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass studio for firing in their kilns. DESCRIPTION:As a thank you for your generosity and support\, we invite Brucemore donors to a special holiday preview the week before we open to the public. This self-guided tour of the mansion is sure to fill you with holiday cheer! \nBe among the first to explore our award-winning holiday experience complete with over a dozen Christmas trees\, sparkling décor\, and a peek into the holiday seasons of yore at Brucemore. This self-guided experience features three floors plus basement Grizzly Bar and Tahitian Room with interpretive materials and family friendly interactives. Before or after your tour\, put on your hat and gloves to visit the grounds at no additional cost. The mansion grounds include a formal garden\, a white garden\, orchard\, pet cemetery\, and more that are especially beautiful after a snowfall. \nDonors can claim their two complimentary preview tickets and reserve a tour time beginning Wednesday\, October 11\, 2023 by contacting Brucemore via phone or email. Space per tour time is limited.
