Create a beautiful tree from glass to decorate your home for the holidays or gift to someone special. All instruction and materials are provided during the class to make one 3”x6” glass tree using warm glass techniques. Projects include a wooden display stand. \nThis workshop occurs at Brucemore. All projects are then taken back to Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to be fired in their kiln. With over a dozen Christmas trees and thousands of twinkling lights\, this breath-taking view of Brucemore is sure to bring Christmas alive for you and your family and friends. This tour takes visitors to all four floors of the mansion\, including the infamous Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar. Favorite holiday carols and hymns played on Brucemore’s rare 1920s Skinner Player Pipe Organ will fill the home with music and cheer. \nOur Holiday Nights Tours for 2022 are sold out. Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, discover the multi-stage geocache\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Check out the new History Ungated QR code tour by scanning the codes on signs throughout the estate! Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHours through September 3\, 2023:  \n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Check out the new History Ungated QR code tour by scanning the codes on signs throughout the estate! In this unique workshop\, you will receive a pre-made ceramic tile inspired by the terracotta Greek Key tiles that decorate the outside of the mansion! Paint and glaze the tile as you’d like\, connecting your personal masterpiece to the historic architecture of Brucemore. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Visitor Center. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kiln. DESCRIPTION:This event has been canceled. \nEmbrace your wild side! \nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring a wild workshop to Art at Brucemore\, just in time for Theatre Cedar Rapids’ production of Madagascar: A Musical Adventure at Brucemore! In this class\, you will sculpt a trinket bowl inspired by the characters of  Madagascar – a lion\, a zebra\, a hippo\, or a giraffe. These trinket bowls are good for holding all sorts of items\, including candy\, keys\, loose change\, or even a succulent. When you are finished with your project\, remember to “Move it\, move it!” over to Theatre Cedar Rapids’ website to purchase tickets to see Madagascar: A Musical Adventure\, showing at Brucemore from July 7-23\, 2023. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kiln. Brucemore will notify participants when their creations are ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio\, approximately three weeks following the class date. \nPlease register by June 7 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot. \n\nAdmission Information \nDate: Saturday\, June 10\, 2023\nTime: Workshops begin at 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm\nAdmission: $35 per person (includes all materials and instructions). \nThis event is held in partnership with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio. \n \n\nIMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION \n\nArrival and Parking: We ask that you arrive via our main entrance\, 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403.
