Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\nSaturday\, 10:30 am – 4:00 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\nSaturday\, 10:30 am – 4:00 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! SUMMARY:Art at Brucemore: Glass Butterfly Garden Stake
DESCRIPTION:Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring a pop of color to your garden with this unique decoration! Using a warm glass technique. participants will pick the perfect glass pieces to design a beautiful butterfly complete with vibrant wings and curly antennas. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions\, materials\, and protective eyewear are provided. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to be fired in their kilns. A metal stake will be added to the back of the projects to create a handmade piece of art that’s ready to display in gardens\, on patios\, or in an indoor planter! \nPlease register by July 15 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot! \n\nAdmission: $55.00/per project \n\nWhat to know before you go: \n\nWorkshop capacity is limited\, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required. \nThis workshop is recommended for participants above the age of 12. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. \nAll participants must wear closed-toed shoes and clothing that covers their legs for safety.\nThis workshop lasts approximately ninety minutes. \nProjects will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the workshop date.\n\n\nWhat to do when you arrive: \n\nPlease enter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403.\nOnce onsite\, please follow signs towards the Carriage House\, where there is onsite parking available.\nCheck-in for the workshop with Brucemore staff at the Carriage House.\n\n\nTips for your visit: \n\nConsider leaving bags or other larger personal items in your vehicle. DESCRIPTION:Discover over a century of Cedar Rapids history! On Saturday\, July 18\, from 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM\, Brucemore is offering FREE\, self-guided tours of the mansion. Explore the beautiful rooms of the mansion at your own pace. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer your questions as you learn about the history of the site. When you are finished visiting the mansion\, Brucemore welcomes you to explore our 26 acres of grounds and gardens at no additional cost.  \nThese free tours are made possible with support from Van Meter\, Inc.  \nWhat to expect from this tour:  \n\nSelf-guided mansion tours do not include access to buildings other than the mansion. \nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a member of our visitor services team approximately every 30 minutes. \nYou may take as much or as little time in the mansion as you’d like\, but we recommend planning to spend 45 minutes in the mansion to allow enough time to explore. \nThe last entry time for self-guided tours is 3:30 PM. The mansion will close at 4:30 PM. \nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge. \n\nWhat to do when you arrive:  \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site. \nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion. \nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance. \nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check-in with staff at the mansion at the time listed on your ticket. If you need to purchase a ticket\, you can do that at the mansion when you arrive\, subject to availability. \nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door next to the circle drive. \n\nTips for your visit:  \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video.
