Discover the oddities of the mansion\, including the Nooks and Crannies exclusive experience of a “rainstorm” in our infamous Tahitian Room! This is your chance to explore all rooms in the mansion and get the answer to one of our most frequently asked questions: “what is behind that door?” \nTickets are only available for advance purchase on Brucemore’s website or over the phone. DESCRIPTION:Work side-by-side with members of Brucemore’s Landscape team in the cutting garden to prep the space for winter during this volunteer opportunity! Volunteers will pick up and clear out pumpkin vines\, flowers\, and weeds from the garden. The best part? Any pumpkins you find while helping in the garden are yours to take home\, just in time for Halloween! During the break\, volunteers can enjoy cider\, coffee\, and other fall treats\, as well as pick up some expert advice from Brucemore staff on how to prepare your own garden spaces for winter. \nYou don’t need a green thumb to participate in this volunteer program at Brucemore\, everyone is welcome to join the Pumpkin Patch Pick Up! \nEvent Details: \n\nDate: Saturday\, October 18\nTime: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Short break from 11 – 11:20 AM\nCapacity: 15 participants\nRegister by: 4:00 PM 10/17/25\n\nThings to know about this service learning opportunity: \n\nBrucemore staff will provide all instructions and gardening equipment needed.\nThis volunteer opportunity is recommended for ages 10 and up.\nVolunteers who participate in this activity should be able to walk across uneven terrain and engage in physical activity such as walking\, standing\, kneeling\, bending\, and squatting for periods of time.\nVolunteers are required to wear closed-toed shoes during this activity.\n\nIf you have not volunteered with Brucemore yet in 2025\, please take a moment to complete our 2025 volunteer waiver by clicking here.

Free and open to the public seven days a week for a majority of the year\, visiting the grounds offers the perfect way to immerse yourself in a historic country estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! The mansion does not have an elevator.  Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\nThis tour covers the three main floors of the mansion and the Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar in the basement.\nThis tour is approximately 45 minutes long.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket. This is your chance to explore all rooms in the mansion and get the answer to one of our most frequently asked questions: “what is behind that door?” \nTickets are only available for advance purchase on Brucemore’s website or over the phone.
