Jake has spent the summer on-site at Brucemore writing\, refining and recording his latest album\, Prove It. Come out to enjoy his new music and hear first-hand about his experience and process within the Artisan Studio. \nJake Stack is a singer-songwriter and guitarist from Cedar Rapids. When not playing guitar for Alisabeth Von Presley\, Jake attempts to follow in the tradition of great songwriters like Bob Dylan\, Bruce Springsteen\, John Prine\, Leonard Cohen\, Jason Isbell\, and Frank Turner. Free and open to the public seven days a week for a majority of the year\, visiting the grounds offers the perfect way to immerse yourself in a historic country estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, discover the multi-stage geocache\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Check out the new History Ungated QR code tour by scanning the codes on signs throughout the estate! Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\n\nHours through December 31\, 2023:  \n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. Explore the first\, second\, and third floors of the mansion at your own pace while taking in the architecture\, artifacts\, and stories of the Douglas family\, who called Brucemore home from 1906-1937. Use the provided tour book with information to start your experience and read stories about what the spaces reflect or how they were used. Interact with hands-on opportunities and ask questions of the knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Head outside after your mansion tour and explore the 26-acres of grounds and gardens on your own at no additional cost. We recommend planning for 45 minutes indoors. \nTickets for guided tours of the mansion are available for advance sale on our website. Guests may also purchase tickets the day of their visit\, subject to availability.
