Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\nSaturday\, 10:30 am – 4:00 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. They were all part of the fascinating life of Helen Haskell Noyes! Celebrate Women’s History Month by learning about her life with a drink in hand. We’ll explore her connections to Brucemore and the conversations with the dead she published in a book called The Voice from Space. While you explore the mansion\, you can see several of her handmade puzzles on display. This is your chance to explore all rooms in the mansion and get the answer to one of our most frequently asked questions: “what is behind that door?” \nTickets are only available for advance purchase on Brucemore’s website or over the phone. All children must be accompanied by an adult.\nTo accommodate ongoing preservation work on the estate\, the route for the Nooks and Crannies Tour may be adjusted.\nThis tour is approximately 90 minutes long.\nThe Nooks and Crannies Tour includes an outdoor portion that will continue in weather conditions including\, but not limited to\, cold temperatures\, light rain\, light snow\, or wind. In case of more inclement weather\, we will adjust most of the tour to occur indoors\, but there will still be outdoor travel to each location. We ask that participants please dress for the weather.\nNooks and Crannies Tours consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator.  Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the check-in location outside of the Carriage House.\nPlease check in with staff outside of the Carriage House at the time listed on your ticket. Check-in may be moved in the event of rain.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video. A labeled Google Map of the site is available here.\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during the tour.\nEarly admittance may not be available and there is not a lobby to wait indoors. If you arrive onsite more than 10 minutes before a scheduled tour\, please enjoy exploring the grounds before your tour.\nNooks and Crannies Tours start promptly at 5:30 PM. If you miss your tour start time\, you may be subject to a shortened tour or asked to reschedule to another tour date\, subject to availability.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours. We encourage you to enjoy a meal at one of Cedar Rapids’ local restaurants before or after your visit.\nAll ticket sales are non-refundable. Vendors will be on-site to sell food and drink.\nWhere should I park? – Parking will not be available on the Brucemore property during this event due to the number of attendees expected. Guests may look for off-site parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. Handicap parking will be available beginning at 3:00 PM in the Bradley and Riley parking lot\, located next to Brucemore’s First Avenue gate at 2007 1st Ave SE. A golf cart shuttle will be available to help transport guests with limited mobility from the gates to the seating area. Guests should plan to walk a few blocks to the event depending on where they park.\nWhere do I enter the event? – The gates to the Brucemore property off First Avenue\, Linden Dr. SE\,  and Dows Lane will be open for pedestrians to enter or exit the property for the event.\nDo I need to reserve tickets? – Tickets are required to attend this event. They may be purchased in advance online\, over the phone\, or at select locations for $25 or at the gate for $30. Please check back soon for in-person ticket locations.\nWill the mansion be open during this event? – The mansion will be open for limited\, free self-guided tours during a portion of the event.\nWill this event be held during rain or inclement weather? – Safety of everyone involved will be a priority. The event may be adapted or canceled due to weather. This could include holding a portion of the event.
