Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. DESCRIPTION:Embrace your spooky spirit! \nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for another popular workshop\, just in time for Halloween! In this workshop\, participants will build their own unique ghost from clay\, using various hand-building techniques. Once your ghost is the perfect size and shape\, participants can add “boo-tiful” decorations to their creations with colored glazes and various textures. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kiln. DESCRIPTION:Embrace the sparkle of the season \nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for another popular workshop\, just in time to kick off the holiday season! In this workshop\, you will design a beautiful wreath ornament made of glass. All materials and instructions are provided\, and no experience is necessary to participate. \nParticipants will craft and set their ornaments at Brucemore. All projects will go back to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your creation will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the workshop date\, just in time to hang your masterpiece on your tree! \nTicket sales close on November 13 at 5:00 PM\, but this workshop often sells out in advance. \nWorkshop Date\nNovember 17\, 12:30 PM – Purchase tickets  \nNovember 17\, 2:30 PM – Purchase tickets  \nAdmission\n$40 for one ornament; $55 for two ornaments\nNote: All participants must purchase their own admission. This feature-length documentary sheds light on the untold stories of Iowans who served their country during the Vietnam era\, capturing their experiences with honesty\, respect\, and heartfelt authenticity. \nFrom Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era represents years of community engagement\, collaboration\, and storytelling. The film offers a deeply personal exploration of the lives of ordinary Iowans who grew up in the 1950s and 60s\, left the idyllic landscapes of small-town America\, and faced the realities of war in foreign lands. Through Glazier’s lens\, the film chronicles the veterans’ journeys\, from the turbulence of war to the challenges of reintegration upon returning home. It provides a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by a generation whose narratives have often been overshadowed by history. \nThis event will feature screenings of From Iowa and Back and a photo gallery exhibition featuring snapshots and artifacts from the Vietnam War era.
