Check out the new History Ungated QR code tour by scanning the codes on signs throughout the estate! Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\n\nHours through September 3\, 2023:  \n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm\nSaturday\, 9:30 am – 4:30 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 – 4:30 pm\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! When finished with your tour\, Brucemore welcomes you to explore the 26-acres of grounds and gardens on your own at no additional cost. \nTickets for guided tours of the mansion are available for advance sale on our website. Guests may also purchase tickets the day of their visit\, subject to availability. DESCRIPTION:Take a peek behind the curtain and learn about the artistic journey in this Live from the Artisan Studio event\, featuring Caleb Rainey. At this one-night event\, Caleb will share readings of his poetry and debut new short films he created in partnership with the Artisan Studio. Local film makers involved with the project will give a talk-back to share their process. Join us for this interactive opportunity to learn about the artistic process with local creators. \nCaleb “The Negro Artist” Rainey is an author\, performer\, and producer. His debut book\, Look\, Black Boy\, was awarded first prize in the North Street Book Prize\, and his second book\, Heart Notes was published in 2019. In 2020\, 2021\, and 2022 he was named Best Poet/Spoken Word Performer in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. He is the winner of several slams across the United States\, a 2019  finalist for the UNESCO City of Literature Global Poetry Slam – Iowa City\, and was featured on blog sites Button Poetry and Write About Now. DESCRIPTION:The Glass Ugly Sweater Ornament workshop is sold out!  \n\nEmbrace that festive feeling! \nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring a new festive workshop to the Art at Brucemore series! In this workshop\, participants will design festive sweater ornaments made of glass. Using a warm glass technique\, choose whether you will craft an ugly holiday sweater\, a high fashion statement sweater\, or something in between. All materials and instructions are provided\, and no experience is necessary to participate! \nParticipants may purchase one ornament or two ornaments to complete during the workshop time. Every guest must purchase at least one ornament to participate in the workshop. Sharing projects is not allowed and will land you on the naughty list! \nParticipants will craft and set their ornaments at Brucemore. All projects will go back to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass studio for firing in their kilns.
