DESCRIPTION:This workshop is sold out!  \nEmbrace the sparkle of the season!  \nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for another popular workshop\, just in time to kick off the holiday season! In this workshop\, participants will design candy can ornaments made of glass. Using a warm glass technique\, you can craft your candy cane into a traditional design or create a colorful treat to hang on your tree! \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials\, as well as protective eyewear\, are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your creation will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the workshop date.  \nPlease register by November 12 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot!  \nAdmission: $40 for one ornament | $60 for two ornaments \nNote: All participants must purchase their own admission. The two ornament option is for one participant to create two projects. Sharing projects is not allowed and will land you on the naughty list!  \nWhat to know before you go: \n\nWorkshop capacity is limited\, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required. \nThis workshop is recommended for children ages 8 & up\, and comfortable working with glass pieces. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored.\nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors – the mansion does not have an elevator. There is limited seating available in the mansion. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\nEarly admittance may not be available and there is not an indoor lobby to wait for your tour start time.\nIf you miss your tour start time\, you may be subject to a shortened tour or asked to join another tour time that day\, subject to availability.\nVisitors are encouraged to put on their hats and gloves and explore Brucemore’s grounds during their visit! The estate includes a formal garden\, a night garden\, orchard\, pet cemetery\, and more that are especially beautiful after a snowfall.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours.
