Intermission brings sparkling wine and decadent desserts. \n\n\n\nThis event is designed to give guests a taste of the luxurious parties hosted by the families who called Brucemore home. We invite you to celebrate in style with cocktail or creative evening attire that would impress even Irene Douglas. \n\n\n\nTickets go on sale October 8. Brucemore Supporters receive early access on October 1. \n\nSpace for this event is limited and nights often sell out. Advance ticket purchase is recommended to secure your seat. Attendees loved last October’s event\, so this year we’ve increased capacity and invited more Storytellers to give more people the opportunity to join in the fun. \nOn February 14\, we’re transforming Brucemore into Ravenswood Manor for an elegantly eerie\, masquerade-themed evening of social deduction. Guests are invited to don their best evening wear and a mask to hide their identities\,  just like the demons will be hiding their true intentions! \nWhether you’re looking for a unique Valentine’s Day date night or chance to play games with friends at Cedar Rapids’ most iconic historic house\, this is the perfect way to spend an unforgettable evening. Your experience will be set against the moody backdrop of the mansion after hours\, with live music to add to the ambience. Tickets include light appetizers\, a unique gaming experience\, and self-guided tour access to the mansion during cocktail hour. Canned soft and hard drinks will be available to purchase. \nAbout the Game: \nBlood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game of murder and mystery led by a Storyteller. Each player will be assigned a unique character and designated either good or evil. Good players share information to help solve the mystery\, while evil players lie to try to lead the group astray. The good team wins if they can work together to execute the demon. Perfect for fans of role-playing games and improv comedy\, this is a night of entertainment where YOUR ideas will shape the story. \nIn the world of Myria\, deep in the Gallerian desert\, lies a city of indulgence. Khala Miraj\, known for its night life\, decadent balls\, and incredibly easy ways to lose coin\, has a problem: trash. More specifically: monsters made of trash. Follow a band of mercenaries sent into the city to fix the mistakes of an artificer and their “Awaken” spell gone grossly wrong. With game master Alan Way\, you are invited to participate with your ideas\, monster suggestions\, and real-time decisions that will almost definitely make the lives of these mercs harder than they need to be. \nThis event is produced by Jason Alberty and Alan Way with players Fiona Howat\, Jackson Bartelme\, Kami Zbanek Hill\, and Kerry Patrick. \nEvent Date: March 6 \nEvent Time: 7:30 PM \nEvent Location: Brucemore’s Carriage House \nAdmission: $15 for adults; $10 for students \nSpace for this event is limited. Your ticket includes a complimentary canned drink served from the mansion’s other quirky basement party space: the Grizzly Bar. If you’re looking for a fun and casual way to learn something new while connecting with other history fans\, then this event is for you! \nMarch 20 – Puzzles and Poltergeists\nWhat do puzzle making\, bookbinding\, and spiritualism have in common? They were all part of the fascinating life of Helen Haskell Noyes! Celebrate Women’s History Month by learning about her life with a drink in hand. We’ll explore her connections to Brucemore and the conversations with the dead she published in a book called The Voice from Space. While you explore the mansion\, you can see several of her handmade puzzles on display. Whether you are young or simply young at heart\, everyone is a kid when they visit Brucemore during Spring Break! \nExplore the beautiful rooms of the mansion at your own pace. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer your questions as you learn about the history of the site. When you are finished visiting the mansion\, Brucemore welcomes you to explore the 26-acres of grounds and gardens at no additional cost. \nSpring Break tours are generously sponsored by the Rohde Family Charitable Foundation. \nTour Dates \n\nMarch 14 to March 22\nWednesday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM\nSunday: 1:00 – 4:00 PM\n\nThe last entry for self-guided tours is 3:00 PM. Please email us or call 319-362-7375 to reach a Brucemore staff member. \nWhat to expect from this tour \n\nSelf-guided mansion tours do not include access to buildings other than the mansion.\nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a visitor services staff member approximately every half hour. These rooms are not available to access without a guide.\nYou may take as much or as little time in the mansion as you’d like\, but we recommend planning for 45 minutes to allow enough time to explore.\nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket.
