SUMMARY:Mansion Mixer: Paws and Projectors
DESCRIPTION:Calling all curious minds looking for a unique night out! Mansion Mixers are your chance to explore Brucemore after hours while diving into fascinating stories from history. Each program includes time for self-guided tours of the mansion\, an entertaining presentation from one of our public historians\, mocktails in the Tahitian Room\, and an activity tied to the evening’s theme. If you’re looking for a fun and casual way to learn something new while connecting with other history fans\, then this event is for you! \nInspired by our fall collections feature\, the November theme is Paws and Projectors!  \nCedar Rapids legend says that Brucemore’s Leo was related to MGM’s Jackie\, but is it true? We’ll explore this question and look at other Hollywood animals over drinks in the Tahitian Room. During your visit\, check out artefacts connected to the other animals who called Brucemore home. This will be one of your last chances to see the items before they go back into storage! Round out the evening by testing your knowledge of Brucemore and animal actors in a friendly trivia competition. \nThis event has limited capacity and can sell out. SUMMARY:Live from the Artisan Studio: From Undesirable to Undeniable
DESCRIPTION:What happens when vulnerability finds its rhythm? From Undesirable to Undeniable is a live sonic journey through redemption\, resilience\, and raw self-discovery. \nPoet and lyricist Klazik invites you into an atmosphere where words breathe and sound heals — carried by EJ Swavv’s textured production\, Riley Thurm’s soulful pedal steel\, and Lincoln Ginsberg’s grounding bass. Together\, they build a space that feels both spiritual and human — where every track moves from struggle to surrender\, from searching to soaring. \nEach song unfolds like a chapter: “Lost My Way” wrestles with identity\, “Touch the Sky” and “Way Up” rise above doubt\, and “Acceptance” closes the first act like a deep exhale. The second set opens with “All the Vibes” and ends in reflection with “Book of Jonah\,” a modern psalm for anyone who’s ever been broken\, rebuilt\, and born again through sound. \nThis isn’t just a concert — it’s a testimony in rhythm. A reminder that every “undesirable” chapter has the potential to become undeniable \nAbout Live from the Artisan Studio at Brucemore: \nThis series curated by the arts professionals behind Brucemore’s Artisan Studio gives you a chance to discover something new from talented local artists. You’ll be delighted and surprised by these unique events\, showcasing the best of music\, spoken word\, theatre\, and more created right here in Eastern Iowa. SUMMARY:Art at Brucemore: Double Glass Holiday Trees
DESCRIPTION:Embrace your holiday cheer! \nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring this popular workshop back to the Art at Brucemore series – but this year it’s double the trees\, so double the fun! \nParticipants will design a beautiful double glass tree decoration using warm glass techniques. Both trees will share a single wooden display stand\, so you can create a forest of sparkling holiday trees to brighten your home for the holidays. Projects include a wooden display stand. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials\, as well as protective eyewear\, are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass studio for firing in their kilns. Your creation will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the class date\, just in time to decorate for the holidays! \nPlease register by December 3 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot! \nAdmission: $55 per project \nWhat to know before you go: \n\nWorkshop capacity is limited\, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required. \nRecommended for children ages 8 & up\, and comfortable working with glass pieces. All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. \nAll participants should plan to wear closed-toed shoes and clothing that covers their legs for safety. \nThis workshop lasts approximately 60 minutes.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive: \n\nPlease enter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403.\nOnce onsite\, please follow signs towards the Carriage House\, where there is on-site parking.\nCheck-in with Brucemore staff at the Carriage House. \n\nTips for your visit: \n\nConsider leaving bags or other larger personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during the workshop.\nAll admission sales are final. Please read our ticket policy here. \nVisitors are encouraged to explore Brucemore during their visit. Take a walk around the grounds or check out our events calendar to see what tours are available.
