Brucemore Supporters receive access to a special pre-sale. Donate today to receive pre-sale access and an invitation to our Donor Holiday Preview. \nEmbrace the sparkle of the season!\nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for another popular workshop\, just in time to kick off the holiday season! In this workshop\, participants will decorate an adorable mitten ornament using a warm glass technique. If you’re feeling inspired\, make it a pair to decorate your tree. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your beautiful bauble will be ready for pick up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the class date. \nEvent Date: November 15 \nEvent Time: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM \nAdmission: \n\n$40.00 for one ornament\n$60.00 for two ornaments.\nNote: All participants must purchase their own admission. The two ornament project option is for one participant to complete two projects. Brucemore Supporters receive access to a special pre-sale. Donate today to receive pre-sale access and an invitation to our Donor Holiday Preview. \nEmbrace your holiday cheer!\nBrucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring an updated version of a popular workshop! \nParticipants will design a beautiful\, tall glass holiday tree decoration using warm glass techniques. The tree will come with a wooden display stand\, so you can add this unique piece to your holiday decorations. \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions and materials are provided during the workshop. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio for firing in their kilns. Your creation will be ready for pick-up from the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio approximately three weeks following the class date\, just in time to decorate for the holidays! \nAdmission: $55.00 per project \nPlease register by December 2 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot. \nWorkshop Details\nWe want you to have a fun and festive experience! To help make the most of your visit\, we’ve prepared a few tips. If you have any questions that haven’t been answered here\, our team is happy to help. Please email us or call 319-362-7375 to reach a Brucemore staff member. \nWhat to know before you go: \n\nWorkshop capacity is limited\, and workshops often sell out. Advanced registration is required.\nThis workshop is recommended for participants above the age of 12. Mansion Mixers are your chance to explore Brucemore after hours while diving into fascinating stories from history. Each program includes time for self-guided tours of the mansion\, an entertaining presentation from one of our public historians\, mocktails in the Tahitian Room\, and an activity tied to the evening’s theme. If you’re looking for a fun and casual way to learn something new while connecting with other history fans\, then this event is for you! \nTo celebrate the holidays\, our December theme is Twisted Tidings! \nThis holiday-themed Mansion Mixer uncovers the odd\, spooky\, and just plain weird ways Victorians celebrated the season. Learn about bizarre holiday cards and the lost tradition of Christmas ghost stories as you sip a drink in the Tahitian Room. As you explore the mansion\, search for Krampus figures hidden within the beautiful holiday décor. Your ticket includes snacks and a complimentary drink. \nThis event has limited capacity and can sell out. Parking is available a short walk from the entrance. If parking near the mansion is full\, overflow parking is available near the Carriage House\, which is a short walk from the mansion.\nEvent check-in is inside the mansion.
