Discover the oddities of the mansion\, including the Nooks and Crannies exclusive experience of a “rainstorm” in our infamous Tahitian Room! This is your chance to explore all rooms in the mansion and get the answer to one of our most frequently asked questions: “what is behind that door?” \nTickets are only available for advance purchase on Brucemore’s website or over the phone. All children must be accompanied by an adult.\nTo accommodate ongoing preservation work on the estate\, the route for the Nooks and Crannies Tour may be adjusted.\nThis tour is approximately 90 minutes long.\nThe Nooks and Crannies Tour includes an outdoor portion that will continue in weather conditions including\, but not limited to\, cold temperatures\, light rain\, light snow\, or wind. In case of more inclement weather\, we will adjust most of the tour to occur indoors\, but there will still be outdoor travel to each location. We ask that participants please dress for the weather.\nNooks and Crannies Tours consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. SUMMARY:Art at Brucemore: Clay Peony Wall Hanging
DESCRIPTION:Brucemore is partnering with the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to bring you this brand-new clay project! In this workshop\, participants will create a beautiful\, one-of-a-kind clay peony. The workshop instructor will guide participants step-by-step through this delicate process. Learn how to use forms to pull\, shape\, and tease the clay into natural looking petals that layer gracefully on top of each other to form your flower. While this project takes patience and practice\, the result is well-worth the effort! \nThis workshop is hosted in the Brucemore Carriage House. All instructions\, materials\, and tools are provided. Following the workshop\, the instructor will take the projects to the Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio to be kiln-fired and finished with a professional glaze resulting in a vibrant\, perfect peony ready to hang on your wall. \nPlease register by May 27 at 5:00 PM to reserve your spot! \nAdmission: $50.00/per project \nA $4 processing fee will be added to all online and phone orders. \nWhat to know before you go: \n\nWorkshop capacity is limited\, and workshops often sell out. Explore the beautiful rooms of the mansion at your own pace. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer your questions as you learn about the history of the site. When you are finished visiting the mansion\, Brucemore welcomes you to explore our 26 acres of grounds and gardens at no additional cost.  \nPlease go to the mansion to check-in for these tours. Tickets are available for advance purchase or at the door\, subject to availability.  \nAdmission \n\nAdult: $10.00\nStudent: $5.00\nThree & under: Free\nBrucemore Supporters receive self-guided mansion tour admission at no cost. \nA $4.00 processing fee is applied to all transactions made online or over the phone. \n\n \nWhat to expect from this tour:  \n\nSelf-guided mansion tours do not include access to buildings other than the mansion. \nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a member of our visitor services team approximately every 30 minutes. \nYou may take as much or as little time in the mansion as you’d like\, but we recommend planning to spend 45 minutes in the mansion to allow enough time to explore. \nThe last entry time for self-guided tours is 3:30 PM.
