These gritty\, story-driven songs are a perfect listen for fans of John Prine\, Guy Clark\, and Bruce Springsteen. \nJohannesen previously worked with the Artisan Studio at Brucemore to craft a featured song for the documentary From Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era. Or will they leave the young couple to discover their future as it unfolds? \nTake a journey through time in this musical experience written exclusively for performance in Brucemore’s Formal Garden. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator.  Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge.\nThis tour covers the three main floors of the mansion and the Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar in the basement.\nThis tour is approximately 45 minutes long.\n\nWhat to do when you arrive \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE.\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site.\nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion.\nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance.\nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check in with staff at the mansion at the time on your ticket. If you need to purchase a ticket\, you can do that at the mansion when you arrive.\nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door next to the circle drive.\n\nTips for your visit \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video. A labeled Google Map of the site is available here.\nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during tours.\nEarly admittance may not be available and there is not an indoor lobby to wait for the tour to begin. If you arrive onsite more than 10 minutes before a scheduled tour\, please enjoy exploring the grounds before entering the mansion.\nGuided mansion tours start promptly on the hour. If you miss your tour start time\, you may be subject to a shortened tour or asked to join another tour time that day\, subject to availability.\nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours. We encourage you to enjoy a meal at one of Cedar Rapids’ local restaurants before or after your visit.\nAll ticket sales are non-refundable. Ticket holders will be contacted with further information.\nWhat would you say if you could talk to your younger self?\nJoin us in Brucemore’s formal garden for a two-day-only performance of a new original musical. In this story by local writer Jason Alberty\, a long-married couple returns to a local garden where they shared some of the most important moments of their lives. While there\, they run into two people who might actually be them thirty years before. Will they tell their younger selves about the trials of marriage and the pain of adulthood? Or will they leave the young couple to discover their future as it unfolds? \nTake a journey through time in this musical experience written exclusively for performance in Brucemore’s Formal Garden. This celebration of local creativity is one that you won’t want to miss. \nDates: August 8 (sold out) & 9 \nAdmission: \n\nAdult: $25\nStudent: $15\nBrucemore supporters receive a $5 discount per ticket. Please arrive by 7:25 PM as the gate will close promptly.\nYou are welcome to bring your own picnics and beverages (beer and wine allowed) to enjoy.
