From the woman who built the mansion to the woman who gifted it to the National Trust for Historic Preservation\, the “In Her Steps” tour offers unique insight into the women of Brucemore. The tour will highlight the history of the estate while also discussing themes of labor\, class\, and philanthropy.  Space is limited. The tour includes multiple flights of stairs. \nTickets for this special-themed tour are available for advance sale on our website. Space is limited and this tour frequently sells out. \nDates:  \n\nThursday\, March 9\, 16\, and 23 at 5:30 PM\n\nAdmission: \n\n$18.00 Adult\n$10.00 Student (4+)\nBrucemore members receive a $5 discount per ticket. DESCRIPTION:Discover over a century of Cedar Rapids history with this self-guided tour of the Brucemore mansion. Explore the first\, second\, and third floors of the mansion at your own pace while taking in the architecture\, artifacts\, and stories of the Douglas family\, who called Brucemore home from 1906-1937. Use the provided tour book with information to start your experience and read stories about what the spaces reflect or how they were used. Interact with hands-on opportunities and ask questions of the knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Head outside after your mansion tour and explore the 26-acres of grounds and gardens on your own at no additional cost. We recommend planning for 45 minutes indoors. \nTickets for guided tours of the mansion are available for advance sale on our website. Guests may also purchase tickets the day of their visit\, subject to availability.
