Volunteer Tour Guide Orientation

September 20, 2019 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

130917_Brucemore-133_reduced.jpgBrucemore is looking for new, volunteer tour guides! This is your opportunity to share your passion–whether it is for Cedar Rapids, history, Brucemore, or connecting with people!

Date: September 20, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.

No previous formal education in history is required.

Brucemore has been entertaining and educating tour-goers since the 1980s. Annually, over 10,000 people visit from at least 13 different countries, 48 states, and 83 Iowa counties to learn about Eastern Iowa’s heritage.

You don’t have to be an expert on history or Brucemore. We provide all of our guides with tour scripts, access to learning from staff and current tour guides, and we are happy to work one-on-one until you feel ready to do a tour on your own.

Training typically takes one to two months. But don’t worry – it is flexible and can be adapted to fit your schedule. The best part? You get to shadow tours and meet other certified tour guides.

If you can’t make the scheduled orientation, we would still love to hear from you! Additional training opportunities are scheduled based on interest.

Email to let us know you’re coming so we can prepare enough materials!
