DESCRIPTION:The 26-acre landscape highlights a variety of experiences to enjoy throughout the year! Free and open to the public seven days a week for a majority of the year\, visiting the grounds offers the perfect way to immerse yourself in a historic country estate in the heart of Cedar Rapids. Stroll through the gardens\, picnic on the lawn\, birdwatch on a woodland path near the pond\, examine the architecture of the mansion and servants’ village\, or take in the history of the site with interpretative panels scattered across the grounds. Don’t forget to take a selfie (or two) and tag us on social media! \n\n\n\nHours \n\n\n\nMonday – Friday\, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm\nSaturday\, 10:30 am – 4:00 pm\nSunday\, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm\n\n\n\n\n*Hours are subject to change seasonally or for special events\, holidays\, and other occasions.  \n\n\n\nGuidelines for your visit\n\n\nWe love when furry friends come to visit Brucemore! Please help us keep the site clean and welcoming to everyone by keeping your animal on lead at all times and taking any waste with you.\nWe do not have any garbage cans on the grounds as part of our approach to remove distractions. Please carry out anything you bring onto the site.\nParking for vehicles is available on pavement near the Carriage House or Mansion.\nPublic restrooms are available in a building next to the Carriage House during hours with vehicle access seasonally.

SUMMARY:FREE Self-Guided Mansion Tours
DESCRIPTION:Discover over a century of Cedar Rapids history! On Saturday\, July 18\, from 11:00 AM – 4:30 PM\, Brucemore is offering FREE\, self-guided tours of the mansion. Explore the beautiful rooms of the mansion at your own pace. Knowledgeable staff will be available to answer your questions as you learn about the history of the site. When you are finished visiting the mansion\, Brucemore welcomes you to explore our 26 acres of grounds and gardens at no additional cost.  \nThese free tours are made possible with support from Van Meter\, Inc.  \nWhat to expect from this tour:  \n\nSelf-guided mansion tours do not include access to buildings other than the mansion. \nAccess to the basement Tahitian Room and Grizzly Bar will be led by a member of our visitor services team approximately every 30 minutes. \nYou may take as much or as little time in the mansion as you’d like\, but we recommend planning to spend 45 minutes in the mansion to allow enough time to explore. \nThe last entry time for self-guided tours is 3:30 PM. The mansion will close at 4:30 PM. \nTours of the mansion consist of substantial walking and standing. The historic mansion is not currently wheelchair accessible. There are several stairs to access the first floor\, and several flights of stairs to see the other floors. The mansion does not have an elevator. Please make the best decision for the accessibility of your party with this knowledge. \n\nWhat to do when you arrive:  \n\nEnter through the gate at 2160 Linden Dr. SE\, Cedar Rapids\, IA 52403. Please do not use the exit gate on First Avenue to enter the site. \nOnce onsite\, follow signs towards the mansion. \nThere is on-site parking a short walk from the mansion entrance. \nIf you purchased tickets in advance\, please check-in with staff at the mansion at the time listed on your ticket. If you need to purchase a ticket\, you can do that at the mansion when you arrive\, subject to availability. \nThe mansion entrance is on the south side of the building\, through the front door next to the circle drive. \n\nTips for your visit:  \n\nFor site navigation tips\, please watch this video. A labeled Google Map of the site is available here. \nPlease consider leaving bags or other large personal items in your vehicle. A coat rack is available\, but it is not monitored during tours. \nFood and drink are not allowed inside the mansion during tours. We encourage you to enjoy a meal a one of Cedar Rapids’ local restaurants before or after your visit. \nAll ticket sales are non-refundable. Please read our ticket policy here. \nPhotography is allowed inside the mansion for personal\, non-professional use. Tripods\, selfie sticks\, or other photography equipment is not permitted. DESCRIPTION:Dive into the big blue world with this family-friendly musical adventure! \nFinding Nemo follows Marlin\, an anxious and over-protective clownfish who lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his son Nemo. When Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney\, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic odyssey across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory\, laid-back sea turtle Crush\, and the supportive Tank Gang\, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. \nBook by Lindsay Anderson. (Parking is not available on Dows Lane\, the dead-end road adjacent to Brucemore.) \nSeating: Lawn space is on a first-come basis. Patrons responsible for bringing their own chairs or blankets.  \nShow Run Time: Approximately 60 minutes. There will be a 15-minute intermission.  \nFood and Beverage/What to Bring: You are welcome to bring your own light snacks and beverages to enjoy in the performance venue. Concessions will not be for sale.  \nPets: Pets are not allowed\, excluding service animals. \nWeather: The event occurs fully outdoors and may be held in light rain. If the event needs to be delayed or rescheduled due to weather\, a decision will be made by 4:15 p.m. and ticket holders will be notified by phone.
