History Detectives
Elementary School Program
"History Detectives" encourages students to further develop looking and thinking skills by assuming the role of a detective. On a guided tour of the mansion, grounds, and exhibitions, students discover clues and piece together stories of the Douglas family and their servant and grounds staff.
Students come away with a better understanding of the issues that shaped life in the early 1900s. New technology, a growing middle class, the development of industry, and changing ideas about family were all at play on the Brucemore estate.
Elementary school groups are scheduled for 90-minute visits.
